VSB PEER ADVISORS

Peer Advisors

VSB Peer Advisors are an integral part of the VSB advising team, which is composed of the Clay Center advisor, peer advisor, and faculty advisor. Peer advisors are junior and senior business students, selected through a rigorous application and interview process, who support VSB students throughout their first and sophomore years. Peer advisors complete a comprehensive training program that equips them with the knowledge, resources, and tools to support their advisees as they settle into college life and navigate their first year and beyond.

Each peer advisor is assigned a group of up to 12 students with whom they meet regularly throughout the academic year, both individually and in group meetings. Serving as a point of contact, peer advisors provide guidance with regard to college transition issues, selecting classes and areas of study, getting involved in VSB and university activities, and considering available on-campus resources and programs.

Under the direction of the Clay Center peer advisors provide invaluable service to VSB students. Starting with fall the 2022 semester, EY, one of the Big 4 public accounting firms, will sponsor the VSB Peer Advisor Program.

BECOME A VSB PEER ADVISOR

Participation in the VSB Peer Advisor Program gives students the opportunity to enhance leadership and professional development skills essential to a well-rounded education.

How to Apply

The effectiveness of VSB’s Peer Advisor Program depends directly on the quality, engagement, enthusiasm, and dedication of our peer advisors. The application process begins in mid-February. VSB sophomores with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, in good disciplinary standing with the university, are eligible to apply. To apply to become a peer advisor, complete the Peer Advisor Application and return it to the Clay Center. Applications will be reviewed and applicants will be contacted to schedule interviews. Once selected as a peer advisor, a student will serve throughout his or her junior and senior years.
