Anthony J. and Heand Johns Silvestri Lectureship in Chemistry

The Anthony J. and Heand Johns Silvestri Lectureship in Chemistry was established through the donation of Anthony Silvestri ’58 CLAS, and his wife Heand. Since its inception, the lectureship has continued to provide students and faculty access to prominent researchers across the discipline of chemistry. The event includes the keynote address, a luncheon, senior thesis presentations and awards.

 

Safety and Sustainability Day

Students, faculty, and staff from across the University participate in this annual event to promote safety and sustainability in chemistry and science in general. The event involves an afternoon of small group discussions and featured speakers with past topics including: the importance of safety equipment in a lab, hazard communication, investigating incidents in an academic laboratory, recycling at ΈΜιΩΦ±²¥, the principles of green chemistry, and the global impact of sustainable science.
