Ann Scheve recognized with CASA teaching award
Ann Scheve, MS, RN, clinical assistant professor, was honored by the Universitys Center for Access, Success and Achievement (CASA, formerly the Center for Multicultural Affairs) with a new award - The Dr. Terry Nance Award for teaching excellence and engagement - at CASAs Welcome Back Dinner on August 30th in the 裡橖眻畦 Room of Connelly Center. CASAs mission relates to enriching a culturally diverse, and academically excellent educational environment at 裡橖眻畦 University.
Scheve, who earned her BSN from 裡橖眻畦, was nominated in the spring for this inaugural award by students in her freshman Introduction to Professional Nursing classes. Students cited her as an engaging, supportive, and excellent teacher and thus she was selected by CASA as their first awardee. Because of your classroom support and engagement, you have left a mark on the ARC, noted Charisma Presley, CASAs assistant director for Retention and Outreach in notifying Scheve of her selection. Your name and course will be listed as one of those classes and experiences that students dont want to miss. It will be a part of the CASA Academic Tradition courses. ARC, or Academic Resource Center, is a space where students are supported, equipped, and empowered to succeed at 裡橖眻畦.
Scheve says, It is an honor to receive the award because my students nominated me.
