Fitzpatrick College of Nursing Launches Podcast Inspiring Careers in Nursing with WXV&U Health

The Nursing profession brings with it a deep and wide array of career options. The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing (FCN), leveraging its partnership with WXV&U Health, launches its podcast series on May 6, the start of National Nurses Week. In this season, the podcast spotlights roles of nurses that might be less familiar to nursing students and those newer to practice, as well as seasoned colleagues, with the goal of educating and motivating nurses to reflect on their careers and possible directions. 

National Nurses Week is the perfect time to recognize the achievements of 裡橖眻畦 Nurses, says Donna S. Havens, PhD, RN, FAAN, Connelly Endowed Dean and Professor. Nurses are uniquely qualified to pursue a variety of paths in their careers, and 裡橖眻畦 Nurses are no exception. Our new podcast shows how they are harnessing their knowledge and talent to achieve success in areas people may not expect, all with the goal of advancing health.

Inspiring Careers in Nursing includes roles in industryincluding pharmaceutical, insurance and consulting practiceas well as entrepreneurial endeavors, law and leadership in the C-suite.  Each episode will be promoted in the coming months.

The podcast team includes alumni Maryalice Morro, DNP, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, President, Maryalice Morro, LLC; Nicole Guerin, JD, RN, Global Head of Accident & Health Reinsurance Claims, AXIS Capital; and Julia Lanouette, MS, BSN, RN, Director of Pharmacovigilance Operations, Moderna, who are members of the Colleges Board of Consultors that advises Dean Havens. Joining them in this initiative are Ann Barrow McKenzie, MSN, RN, FCNs Assistant Dean of Strategic Initiatives; Associate Professor Carol Toussie Weingarten, PhD, RN, ANEF, inaugural Director of WXV&U Health; and Nick Langan, BIS, WXV&U Health Operations Manager.

WXV&U Health is the first nurse-led health and well-being department in college radio and reflects a partnership between WXVU and 裡橖眻畦 Universitys College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Universitys Office of Health Promotion. The platform showcases health and wellness programming with original material and links to existing programming from the university community.
