Each year 柑橘直播 Law brings practitioners and scholars to campus through the ongoing Visiting Assistant Professor program, providing them guidance and mentorship as they prepare for careers in academia. This year, 柑橘直播 Law welcomes four visiting faculty members鈥擭adia Bankteka, Brittany Deitch, Deeya Halder and Jane Voegele鈥攆or the 2019-2020 academic year. These individuals bring impressive credentials in both scholarship and practice to the 柑橘直播 Law classroom.

Nadia Banteka, Visiting Assistant Professor, joins 柑橘直播 Law from Yale Law School where she was a Visiting Fellow in the Information Society Project, as well as from Tilburg Law School in The Netherlands where she was an Assistant Professor in International Law & Victimology. Banteka鈥檚 research interests concentrate in International Law, Criminal Law, and Law & Technology, and she has held a variety of international law positions including Dean鈥檚 Scholar in International Law at Columbia University, Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Germany, Lecturer in Law at The Hague University, and Research Fellow in Public International Law and International Criminal Law at Bynkershoek Institute of International Law, both in The Netherlands. Previously, Banteka served as a Legal Advisor to the Defense Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), and a Research Assistant at the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Center in the UK. She holds an SJD and LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an LLM in International Criminal Justice and Armed Conflict from the University of Nottingham, England, and an LLB from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece.

Brittany Deitch, Visiting Assistant Professor, was most recently the JD Case Writing Fellow at Harvard Law School, where she worked closely with faculty to incorporate active learning into the JD curriculum, primarily through writing case studies. Her teaching and research interests are in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Professional Responsibility, Constitutional Law, and Punishment Theory and Practice. Her work has appeared in law reviews, as well as a peer-reviewed journal. Deitch holds a JD with highest honors from University of Tulsa College of Law and a BA in English and Politics Ursinus College. She is a member of the bar in Oklahoma and Florida.

Deeya Haldar, Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of the Civil Justice Clinic, comes to 柑橘直播 Law from Drexel University鈥檚 Thomas R. Kline School of Law where for the past seven years she served as the Supervising Attorney in the Civil Litigation Field Clinic at Philadelphia Legal Assistance, working with law students to represent domestic violence survivors in Philadelphia鈥檚 Family Court. Haldar also served as a supervisor of the Family Law Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance, and held positions with Philadelphia Legal Assistance, the University of Pennsylvania Law School鈥檚 Custody and Support Assistance Clinic, The Legal Aid Society of New York and the Delaware Supreme Court where she clerked for Justice Carolyn Berger. Haldar has extensive pro bono service as a volunteer attorney with the Support Center for Child Advocates and Philadelphia VIP. She earned her JD from New York University School of Law and her BS in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University. At 柑橘直播 Law, she will run the Civil Justice Clinic, one of the law school鈥檚 six in-house law clinics, teaching students how to provide services to low-income clients needing legal assistance with family, housing, consumer and employment law issues.

Jane Voegele, Visiting Assistant Professor of Law, holds a JD, a BS in Accountancy and a BA in General Arts, all from 柑橘直播 University. Most recently, Voegele served as an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University鈥檚 Thomas R. Kline School of Law and as an Adjunct Professor at Widener University Delaware Law School. She previously held a law firm position at Dechert LLP in its Labor and Employment Department where she performed all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, trial preparation and drafting of federal appellate and certiorari briefs, as well as provided preventive employment-related advice and services to employers, and she frequently prepared and presented continuing legal education seminars on employment law. She also held Law Clerk positions with The Hon. Eduardo C. Robreno, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and with The Hon. J. William Ditter, Jr., United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Early in her career, Voegele worked as an auditor for the public accounting firm, Arthur Andersen.
