Legal Ethics, Harassment and Discrimination: The Role of the Rules, 11/15
Presented by The David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for Ethics, Integrity and Compliance in partnership with Cozen O'Connor
Wednesday, November 15, 2017
The text of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct now defines professional misconduct to include harassment and discrimination on wide range of bases. Is this a long-overdue response to a serious problem in the profession or a regulatory overreach that gives too much power to bar disciplinary authorities and presents First Amendment concerns? Is the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board's proposal on this topic, which would link misconduct findings to violations of anti-discrimination statutes, a wise compromise or an abdication of responsibility?
"Legal Ethics, Harassment and Discrimination: The Role of the Rules" tackles these questions and more in a panel discussion hosted by 裡橖眻畦 Law's The David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for Ethics, Integrity and Compliance on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 12 - 2 p.m. at Cozen O'Connor's Philadelphia office (One Liberty Place, 1650 Market Street, Suite 2800, Philadelphia, PA). This program is approved for 2 ethics CLE credits by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board. The event is free, but registration is required.
