As Co-Director of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income at The American College of Financial Services, Hopkins engages in retirement income-related research and promotes best practices for retirement planning. For Hopkins, who participated in the Reza Taleghani JD/MBA program as a student, his career builds upon his longstanding love of both law and business.
I am a strong believer in the value of a business background for lawyers, Hopkins said. Knowing how a business makes its money and the challenges it faces will make you a better lawyer in almost any legal field. At a minimum, learning more about business is good for your own future.
Hopkins ascribes many of his professional accomplishments to his 裡橖眻畦 experience. In addition to receiving a strong doctrinal education, Hopkins learned to think critically, to write persuasively and to see both sides of an argument.
This broadening of my mind and thought process has helped me tremendously as I conduct research, consult, publish and develop curriculum for new education programs, Hopkins said. Without my 裡橖眻畦 classmates, teachers and friends I would not have experienced the success I have so far nor would I have the same positive impact on the retirement planning world.
