ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯

UNDERGRADUATE RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Study Abroad

In order to increase language proficiency and cultural literacy, all students are strongly encouraged to spend a semester abroad in one of the University-approved programs in cities such as Milan, Perugia and Siena.

Language Tables

The Department encourages students and other members of the ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ community to take part in the language tables. Language tables are the best option to practice what you have learned in class without the formalities of the classroom. To learn more, please see the site.

LUV Lab

The  invites interested students to join our weekly lab meetings, where we review research on language variation and work collaboratively toward uncovering the mysteries of how language changes and evolves. Students are encouraged to get involved in ongoing research, including linguistic analyses of Hispanic speakers in Philadelphia and laboratory studies of cognitive factors in language variation. Please contact Grant Berry, PhD, if interested.

Italian Club: Circolo Italiano

The Italian Club of ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University seeks to promote Italian culture, unite students, and supplement classroom experiences. The club is open to students of any heritage and Italian language ability. Events to promote the club have included: Italian film viewings, trips to opera performances in Philadelphia and New York, and Italian dinners featuring wonderful music and authentic foods. The club also works closely with multicultural organizations to help foster community and understanding across the ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ campus.

Italian Honor Society: Gamma Kappa Alpha

The Italian Honors Society, Gamma Kappa Alpha, is a national honor society that recognizes scholastic performance in coursework in Italian language, literature, and culture. New members are inducted each spring and wear cords at graduation that testify to their achievement.
