RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Study Abroad
At ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯, we offer many opportunities to study abroad, either during the academic year or during the summer months. In many cases, these courses can be credited toward your completion of an Asian Studies minor.
For more information on study abroad opportunities, please visit the Office of Education Abroad website.
Fellowships and Scholarships
Freeman Scholarship
is awarded annually to students who plan to complete an internship in Asia. It is made possible through the generous support of The Freeman Foundation.
The Cruse Endowed International Fellowships in Memory of Sergey Kuninykh
This is a university-wide program that annually awards up to two $5,000 fellowships for undergraduate student involvement in non-traditional global study and experience. These fellowship awards are intended to support compelling, unique, and potentially transformative experiences outside of the United States, preferably involving business or other organizations. There is a strong preference for destinations in the developing and emerging regions of the world. These fellowships are not intended to support internships for academic credit or ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ sponsored mission or service trips.
To qualify for one of these fellowships, students must provide a letter of recommendation from a professor or staff member. For more information, contact the Moran Center for Global Leadership Director, Kim Cahill. The application deadline is March 1.
The Asian Language Summer Study Travel Assistance Fund
The Asian Studies Program awards $1,000 in travel rewards to ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ students who are planning to study in China or Japan during the summer. All undergraduates with a GPA of at least 3.0 are eligible.
Application requirements include:
- Completed application form
- 200-250 words detailing your interest in studying in China or Japan
- A current resume
- One letter of recommendation
Contact program director, HaiLin Zhou, PhD, for more information on how to apply.
