Ask Me Anything (AMA) Series

An Ask Me Anything (AMA) session is your chance to hear directly from ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ graduate students. Each AMA will have a virtual Q&A via Zoom with current students around topics such as graduate student life at ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥, housing options, funding opportunities and more! All attendees will receive an application fee waiver code for Graduate Arts & Sciences graduate programs. Staff will be on hand to facilitate discussion.

  • Prestigious Oxford Summer Program Lays Groundwork for ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Theatre Graduate’s Acting Career

    February 26, 2024 - This past summer, ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Theatre alumna Taahira Davis ’23 MA participated in the prestigious British American Drama Academy (BADA) Midsummer Program at the historic Magdalen College at the University of Oxford. The BADA program runs in association with the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University. The program is designed for committed actors and focuses on classical theatre craft with an emphasis on Shakespeare. Its faculty consists of leading British theatre practitioners and faculty from top American graduate programs.

  • Counseling Professor Explores Compassionate Psychotherapy Approach to Pregnancy Loss in New Book

    February 14, 2024 - In a society where discussions about pregnancy loss are often hushed or purely medical, one scholar is working to change the narrative. In her new book, Psychotherapy for Pregnancy Loss: Applying Relationship Science to Clinical Practice, licensed psychologist and Associate Professor of Counseling Rayna D. Markin, PhD, offers a compassionate and evidence-based approach to counseling individuals and couples affected by these deeply emotional events.

  • Faculty Mentors, Collaborative Experiences Shape Master’s Student Path to Public History Career

    February 12, 2024 - ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ History master’s student Jenna Cholowinski’s experience at ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ has been shaped by faculty who have challenged her perspectives, provided relevant hands-on learning opportunities and shared insight into careers that fit with her skills and passion. “¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ History faculty are mentors who help guide you from the very beginning of the admissions process. They provide invaluable research experiences and expose you to many options for future career paths,” Cholowinski says.

  • Psychology Master's Student Earns Grant to Support International Student Research

    February 2, 2024 - ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ University Psychology master’s student Maria Gabriela Molina Funes ’21 CLAS drew on her own experiences as an international student to develop her research interests, which focus on international students’ sense of identity safety and how professors can ensure social identities are welcomed and valued. Her work was recognized by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, which awarded Molina its Clara Mayo Grant to fund her thesis.

  • ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Wildcat and NFL Player Uses MPA Skills to Give Back

    January 15, 2024 - Austin Calitro ’17 CLAS, ’21 MPA pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ while also competing at the highest level of football, the NFL. ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥’s MPA program was a great opportunity for Calitro to demonstrate his knowledge and expertise in public service and gain the skills and knowledge necessary to positively impact his community. ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥’s flexible, online program allowed Calitro to earn his master’s degree even while working through the rigors and demanding schedule of the NFL.
