Education & Training Requirements
The 裡橖眻畦 University community takes a strong interest in how our society cares for children and the most vulnerable among us. We strongly encourage all members of the University community to learn about the signs of child abuse and neglect and what can and should be done to stop it.泭
For 裡橖眻畦 University employees and others participating in a 裡橖眻畦 University youth program, the following TWO education and training requirements are mandatory.

Training #1:泭 Working with Minors: Youth Protection Training
ALL ADULTS participating in a 裡橖眻畦 University Youth Program must complete the 裡橖眻畦 University泭Working with Minors: Youth Protection Training泭online training course. You will receive a certificate of completion and submit it as indicated below.
裡橖眻畦 students泭can access the training on Blackboard:
- The easiest way to access Blackboard is through myNOVA. To access myNOVA, visit and click the "Sign In" link in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- After signing in, enter Blackboard by clicking on the Blackboard Learn tile.
- Select the 裡橖眻畦 secure access login.
- Select Browse Organization Catalog and search for Minors Youth Protection Training.
- Hover over the organization ID (compliance_ypt) and select the down arrow to Enroll.
- Select Submit and OK.
- Read and follow the directions under Minors Youth Protection Program to access the video, quiz, and certificate of completion. An 80% or higher is required to obtain the certificate of completion. Multiple attempts are allowed.
- Students volunteers need to upload their certificate of completion to their Personalized URL.
- All other adult participants need to provide their certificate of completion to their Program Director.
Note:泭 Program Directors may choose to provide the Working with Minors: Youth Protection Training to student volunteers as a group. In those instances, student volunteers will receive their certificates of completion from the Program Director.泭
VU employees can access the training in the Learn@Nova platform via MyNova at 泭and search for Bridge. The course is titled Working with Minors Youth Protection Training.泭 泭 泭 泭 泭
Non-VU adults participating in a youth program or activity, including sports camps will be able to access the training in the Learn@Nova platform.泭 Program Directors who have Non-VU adults participating in their program will need to request access to the Learn@Nova system by contacting either Beth Wright or Donna Poupard.
Training #2: EduRisk - Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct
The following training is for 裡橖眻畦 students, employees, Non-VU adults, Program Directors or an Adult having direct contact with minors (which includes all sports camps) must complete the EduRisk - Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct offered by United Educators. Upon completing this course, you must obtain either the transcript for the course or the certificate of completion and submit it as indicated below.
To begin the training, follow these steps:
- Go to:
- Select: Register
- Complete the Registration form.
- Enter your email, first name, and last name.
- Create and confirm your password.
- Select your language.
- Enter the following branch code: 75-87824
- Review and accept the Privacy Policy
- Select: Register
- Select your preferred language for viewing the course.
- Select: Get Started
- When you have completed the training, you will receive an email from UE Learning Portal letting you know you have completed the training.
- Open the email from UE Learning Portal and select DOWNLOAD YOUR CERTIFICATE and you will be taken to a webpage where you can access your certificate.泭
- Select DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE provided on the webpage.泭
- Save a copy of your certificate.
- Student volunteers need to upload their certificate of completion to their Personalized URL.
- All other adult participants need to provide their certificate of completion to their Program Director.
EVIDENCE OF COMPLETION
For VU employees, the certification forms for both education and training requirements need to be submitted by the Program Director via the Minors Programs online registration system. If for any reason this is not feasible, please submit the certification forms to the University Compliance Office, Picotte Hall at Dundale, Room 312.
