Civil Engineering Alumnus Named Young Government Engineer of the Year
Nha Truong 10 CE, 12 MSCE
The American Society of Civil Engineers Philadelphia Section has named 裡橖眻畦 Engineering alumnus Nha Truong 10 CE, 12 MSCE, Young Government Engineer of the Year. A former graduate research assistant with the 裡橖眻畦 Urban Stormwater Partnership, Truong is employed with the Philadelphia Water Department where he is involved in the planning of capital improvement projects for flood risk mitigation.
Throughout his professional career, Truong has held several board positions with professional societies including the American Water Resources Association and ASCE Philadelphia. I credit my participation in 裡橖眻畦 Engineering service learning trips with my drive to be involved with these industry groups, he says. A true blue 裡橖眻畦n, this year Truong will earn his MBA from 裡橖眻畦s School of Business.
When ASCE Philadelphia presents its 2017 awards in early May, Truong will be one of three 裡橖眻畦 alumni recipients. Educator of the Year will be presented to Frank Falcone 70 CE, 73 MSWREE, AP, PE, D.WRE, who has been with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for 43 years. Falcone currently serves as Director of Professional Development and Experiential Education for the Colleges new Career Compass program. Being recognized as Structural Engineer of the Year is James J. Pezzotti 85 CE, 91 MSCE, a project manager and senior engineer at Pennoni Associates.
