Dual Computer and Electrical Engineering Major Earns National Recognition
Stephanie Jones 18 ECE receives the 2017 Black Engineer of the Year Award for Leadership.
Junior Computer and Electrical Engineering major Stephanie Jones was recently recognized at the (Becoming Everything You Are) STEM conference and in the DiscoverE program. At the BEYA conference she was presented with the 2017 Black Engineer of the Year Award for Leadership, and the National Society of Black Engineers nominated her for the New Faces of Engineering College Edition.
In addition to her regular academic activities, Stephanie serves as president of 裡橖眻畦s chapter of NSPE and is a member of the Black Cultural Society, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Colleges IEEE chapter. She is also a PEER, hosting weekly office hours to tutor fellow engineering students. She tutors for the Universitys multicultural office as well. This year, Stephanie served as the senior off-campus chair of activities for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service committee.
