Richard Kenney 15 ME, 17 MSME, a research assistant in 裡橖眻畦 Universitys Laboratory for Advanced Thermal and Fluid Systems, was awarded Best Student Paper in the area of Thermal Measurement Technology and/or Application at the 2017 IEEE Semi-Therm: 33rd Thermal Measurement, Modeling, and Management Symposium. His paper, Experiments on the Thermal Resistance of Deformable Thermal Interface Materials under Mechanical Loading, resulted from collaborative research funded by Cisco Systems in San Jose, California. Cisco has been a long-time LATFS partner.

LATFS Director Alfonso Ortega, PhD, the James R. Birle Professor of Energy Technology and director of 裡橖眻畦s Center for Energy-Smart Electronic Systems, notes that Rich is a classic example of a 裡橖眻畦 student who worked as an undergraduate researcher, which inspired him to pursue a graduate degree. Kenney has been hired by Harris Corporation, one of the College of Engineerings industry partners.
