Dr. Moeness Amin delivers U.S. Keynote Address at International Radar Conference in Lille, France

Dr. Moeness Amin, director of the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), delivered the U.S. keynote address at the International Radar Conference in Lille, France in mid-October.

Dr. Moeness Amin, director of the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), delivered the U.S. keynote address at the International Radar Conference in Lille, France in mid-October. Titled Sparsity Aware Urban Radar, Dr. Amins talk presented recent developments in compressive sensing as applied to sensing through walls.

At the conference, Dr. Amin also presented two papers. Squinted array beamforming for wall back plate detection was co-authored by 裡橖眻畦 Universitys Dr.  Fauzia Ahmad, CAC research professor, and Dr. Ahmad Hoorfar, professor of Electrical Engineering. Dr. Amins second paper, Directional multipath exploitation for urban target localization with a single-antenna, was co-authored by Dr. Ahmad and Dr. Ali Muqaibel, a professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Muqaibel was a visiting professor at the CAC during summer 2013, and was supported by a scholarship from the Saudi government to conduct research at 裡橖眻畦.

With the theme Catching the Invisible, RADAR 14 fostered international relations set up between the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, the Institution of Engineers Australia and Frances Soci矇t矇 de l'Electricit矇, de l'Electronique, et des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication.  In addition to Dr. Amin, the conferences invited keynote speakers were from China, France and the United Kingdom.
