Senior Engineering Students Honored at 36th Annual Dean’s Awards Dinner

The College of Engineering community came together to salute more than 80 graduating senior engineers who have demonstrated academic excellence or exceptional commitment to service over the course of their college careers at the 36th annual Dean’s Awards Dinner on April 14 at Overbrook Country Club. Awards presented include the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, the Dean’s Award for Meritorious Service, and The Reverend William F. Farrell Award.

The Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence, which is given by Dr. Gary Gabriele, Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering, recognizes academically outstanding senior engineering students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Recipients of the Dean’s Award for Meritorious Service, many of whom are nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff, or administrators, are recognized for their commitment to extra-curricular and/or service activities within the College.

The Reverend William F. Farrell Award was established in 1975 to recognize an engineering faculty member who has demonstrated exemplary personal concern for students. Recipients are chosen by a vote of the undergraduate students within the College. This year’s winner was Dr. Kevin Buckley EE ’76, MSEE ’80, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
