VILLANOVA, Pa., February 20, 2019 - 裡橖眻畦 School of Business (VSB) is proud to congratulate Jonathan Doh, PhD Associate Dean of Research, Herbert G. Rammrath Endowed Chair in International Business, Co-Faculty Director of the Moran Center for Global Leadership, and Professor of Management at VSB, for receiving this years 裡橖眻畦 University Outstanding Faculty Research Award. This is the highest award bestowed to a 裡橖眻畦 faculty member for outstanding accomplishments in scholarly research. Given the tremendous quality of academic research undertaken throughout 裡橖眻畦s campus, this award clearly reflects Dr. Dohs exceptional research, scholarship, and contribution to his field. 

Dr. Doh brings tremendous honor to 裡橖眻畦 as a scholar of the highest rank and is a model of the 裡橖眻畦 teacher-scholar, where scholarship and teaching complement each other, said Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, the Helen and William OToole Dean of VSB. We are fortunate to have such a celebrated faculty member and role model among our faculty in the School of Business.

I am humbled to receive this award given the increasing research productivity and impact of my great colleagues at 裡橖眻畦, said Dr. Doh. We are entering a new era of competing with the very best national universities across teaching, research, and engagement, and I am honored to be a part of this important push.

Dr. Doh joined VSB in 2001 and teaches and does research at the intersection of international business, strategic management, and corporate responsibility. He has a global reputation as a leading scholar in international business, service as an editor of journals, productive publication record in leading journals, and his substantial impact on his scholarly field.

Dr. Doh has published more than 85 refereed articles, 35 chapters, a dozen teaching cases and eight books. Many of his publications appear in elite or top-tier management, international business and ethics/social responsibility journals, including Academy of Management Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal, among others. His most recent books are Aligning for Advantage: Competitive Strategies for the Political and Social Arenas, and International Management: Culture, Strategy and Behavior, a best-selling international management text.

He has presented more than 80 papers at international conferences, and served the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business, and the Strategic Management Society in numerous capacities. He has also served as Associate Editor and Special Issue Editor at several journals and recently competed his 4 year term as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of World Business, the #2 ranked IB journal. Beginning this January, he started a term as Senior Associate Editor of Journal of Management Studies, one of the leading general management journals, and will move up to General Editor in 2020. Dr. Doh was ranked as the 12th most prolific international business scholar for the period 2001-2009 and in 2015, he was elected a Fellow of Academy of International Business.

Dr. Doh has been a visiting professor or presenter at numerous universities in Europe and Asia, including Aalto University, Copenhagen Business School, Vienna University of Economics and Business, University of Zurich, Peking University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Cape Town, University of Auckland and University of Sydney, among others. Previously, he was on the faculty of American and Georgetown Universities, a director for the U.S. Department of Commerce (with responsibilities related to NAFTA), and a consultant for Deloitte's Global Energy Resource Group.

Dr. Doh was named Associate Dean of Research for the 裡橖眻畦 School of Business in 2017. He has also served on and led several committees, task forces, and other initiatives for VSB and the university, including the University Senate Committee on Mission and Social Justice; Committee on Social Responsibility Proxies; Board of Trustees Investment Committee; VSB Committee on Ethics and Social Responsibility; VSB Business Leaders Forum, VSB Rank and Tenure, and Research Committees. He has also been deeply engaged in University strategic planning processes and sustainability initiatives, currently serving on the University Sustainability Leadership Council.
