Dean Joyce E. A. Russell Serves as Panelist at 14th Annual Pennsylvania Conference for Women

裡橖眻畦, Pa., October 4, 2017- 裡橖眻畦 School of Business (VSB) is proud to announce that Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, The Helen and William OToole Dean of the 裡橖眻畦 School of Business, spoke at the 14th annual Pennsylvania Conference for Women on October 3, 2017 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This event is the longest-running womens conference in the state, whose mission is to promote, communicate and amplify the influence of women in the workplace and beyond.

Throughout the day, various panel discussions and workshops were available for conference participants. Dean Russell was a featured panelist in a workshop titled Strategies to Stand Out, Step Up and Get Noticed. This career advancement-centered workshop aimed to provide experienced mid/senior level professionals with advice surrounding professional skills and job advancement. She brought her background as a licensed industrial and organizational psychologist, along with over 25 years of experience consulting with both private and public sector organizations. During the panel discussion, Dean Russell shared several strategies to encourage and empower women in the workplace, including her firm belief that 80 percent of successful negotiating is preparation, and the other 20 perfect is what you do in the room.

One of the biggest highlights of the conference was a keynote luncheon and conversation with Former First Lady Michelle Obama, moderated by Shonda Rhimes, executive producer and creator of the hit ABC series Greys Anatomy and Scandal. The schedule of events for the day also included keynote presentations from speakers including Carla Harris, former member of the National Womens Business Council and current Vice Chairman of Wealth Management and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley; Dr. Bren矇 Brown, acclaimed TED talk presenter and founder/CEO of COURAGEworks and BRAVE LEADERS INC.; and Shawn Achor, the New York Times best-selling author of The Happiness Advantage and Before Happiness.

Im so proud to have participated in an event that embodies VSBs commitment to fostering the role of women and diversity in the workplace, said Dean Russell. I truly enjoyed this incredible opportunity to share my experiences and knowledge with motivated women from all sectors of the business and professional environment. I was also thrilled that so many leaders from 裡橖眻畦 and VSB attended the conference.
