DEGREE REQUIREMENTS AND ELECTIVES

Degree Requirements

Within each engineering discipline, studies include:

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry and/or Biology
  • Engineering fundamentals
  • Engineering analysis and design

there are six requirements for all majors.

Six Required Courses for all Departments/Majors

  1. ACS 1000 - Ancients
  2. ACS 1001 - Moderns
  3. THL 1000: Catholic Studies, THL 1000: Faith, Reason, and Culture, and THL 1000: Global Religious Experience
  4. Theology (THL) course or course with CTHL attribute, at the 2000 level or above
  5. Department approved Ethics course
  6. One 3-credit course from:
    • Theology (THL) course or course with CTHL attribute, at the 2000 level or above
    • Philosophy (PHI)
    • Peace and Justice (PJ)
    • ETH 2050 - The Good Life: Ethics & Cont Prob
    • EGR 2930 - Catholic Social Teaching for EGRs
    • Any Humanities or Social Science course with a PJ attribute

Electives

All students select their remaining additional program humanities and social science electives from among the courses listed in the University catalog and offered by the specific departments/programs.
