Preparing Students with the Digital Tools and Knowledge to Transform, Innovate and Impact Business Strategy
¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ School of Business’ Center for Business Analytics (CBA) prepares students to become analytics leaders in their organizations. The CBA brings together industry executives and world-class faculty to create curricula and experiential programming that positions students to deploy analytics education and techniques to solve increasingly complex business problems.
Established in 2011, the CBA is rooted in the practical application of data analytics in business strategy. The Center helped develop a required Business Analytics course for all VSB students that focuses on the application of business analytics. One of the first business schools in the country to require such a course, it quickly developed into a minor and then led to the creation of the Business Analytics co-Major, which has become one of the most popular majors at the school. Finally, the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) graduate program was developed to offer graduate students the highest level of analytics education.
The practice goals and activities of the CBA are grounded in collaborative interaction with the business community. Throughout the year, the CBA hosts analytics thought leaders and practitioners who share their insights with students, faculty and professionals. The CBA’s Business Analytics Roundtable series brings ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ faculty and professionals together to share case studies and emerging trends in analytics.
The CBA is proud to support the undergraduate Business Analytics Society through sponsorship of case competition teams and hosting networking events for professionals and students to discuss careers in analytics.
Master of Science in Business Analytics
Founded in 2014, the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) is one of the top-ranked online graduate business programs in the nation. The CBA is governed by an impressive group of industry executives who help inform and develop the MSBA curriculum, which dives into data techniques and how it impacts business strategy. Students from across the nation, representing multiple industries and expertise, are attracted to the MSBA program to further cement their technology skills and to impact their organizations with strategic data-based decisions.
