  • International students currently matriculated in a full-time academic degree program at an accredited U.S. institution

APPLYING TO SBI

The application for SBI '24 is now closed. Applications for SBI '25 will open in January 2025.

All students considering SBI should plan to attend an information session or schedule an appointment to discuss the program further with Trish Burdo, Director, VSB Summer Programs at vsbsummer@villanova.edu

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once all of the required information and materials are submitted and the most current transcript is received.   The application period ends on April 15.

*Students interested in applying for scholarships must apply be March 15.  See below for more details regarding scholarships.

Application requirements include

  • Application Form: the application form can be found in the on-line application portal, when applications are open (Jan 15 – Apr 15)
  • Resume: submit your current, professionally-formatted resume (search β€œhow to write a resume”).
  • Official Transcript: you will need to request your official college transcript from each college you have attended – including ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University.
    • Official transcripts must be requested through the university’s Office of the Registrar (search β€œhow to order a transcript”) and sent directly to vsbsummer@villanova.edu
    • Electronic versions are preferred. Submission of hard copy transcripts* may cause a delay in processing applications for review.
  • Essay: a 1-2 page essay explaining why you are considering SBI, how SBI can support your goals, and any other factors the SBI admissions committee should take into consideration in evaluating your application.

Students who have accepted an offer of admission and plan to enroll will be asked to submit a non-refundable $500 enrollment deposit (specific deadlines and instructions are provided with the acceptance notice). The deposit is applied towards SBI tuition.

SCHOLARSHIPS

A limited number of scholarships are available for ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ students applying to SBI.  Evidenced financial need, which will be confirmed by the Office of Financial Aid, is necessary to be considered.  In addition to need, academic performance will be strongly considered in determining awards.  Some, but not all scholarships, are designated for students from underrepresented populations.

To apply for a scholarship, students must submit an essay addressing why they should be considered, and include any related or extenuating financial circumstances, along with their other SBI application materials (resume, β€œWhy SBI” essay and official transcript).  The deadline to apply for a scholarship is March 15, and students will be notified by mid-April.

* If you need to submit hard copy documents, they can be mailed to:
