ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ Receives $40 Million to Espiritus Nova: The Campaign for ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University
ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University has received a gift of $40 million that will advance the University’s ability to meet the ever-changing demands of higher education and further strengthen ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯’s Augustinian Catholic educational mission. This anonymous gift marks the largest gift to-date as part of Espiritus Nova: The Campaign for ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University, which publicly launched on October 5, and is the second largest individual gift in ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯’s history.

ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University will host the 2024 Mother Mary Lange Lecture in Black Catholic Studies at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, in the Driscoll Hall Auditorium. The lecture, the signature event for Black Catholic History Month, will feature Kim Harris, PhD, associate professor of African American Religious Thought and Practice at Loyola Marymount University, as the keynote speaker.

Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s (SOPA) annual Fall Festival is returning to ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University November 1-3, marking the 36th consecutive year ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ has hosted the largest student-run Special Olympics event in the world.

Experts predict that by 2035, quantum computers could crack encryption codes that secure everyday transactions and data. Jiafeng Xie, PhD, associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is at the forefront of this battle, using his Security and Cryptography Lab to strengthen security measures against the threat of quantum computers.

ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University President, the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, has announced the launch of a $1.25 billion comprehensive capital campaign, Espiritus Nova: The Campaign for ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯ University. The University begins the public phase of its campaign—the most ambitious fundraising effort in ΈΜιΩΦ±²₯’s 182-year history—having already raised more than $640 million towards its $1.25 billion goal.
