Biography
Heather Baum is a professor of law and director of the Duane Morris LLP Legal Writing Program and Director of the joint JD-MPA Program who teaches Legal Research, Analysis, Writing and Communication in the first-year legal writing program and an upper level intergroup dialogue course. She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her JD from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden. Following law school, she worked as a litigator and a compliance attorney in Philadelphia. At Fox Rothschild LLP, she was an associate in the litigation department and represented clients involved in complex commercial litigation. At Blank Rome LLP, she was a consumer regulatory compliance attorney and worked with consumer lending institutions on compliance with consumer lending laws. She is involved with the Legal Writing Institute (LWI), a national nonprofit dedicated to the furtherance of legal communication, as a member of the Pro Bono and Bar Outreach Committee. Through LWI, she served as a member of the editorial board and as co-editor-in-chief of The Second Draft, an online publication of LWI. She presents at national and regional legal writing conferences, and her scholarly interests include teaching intergroup dialogue to law students, character development in law students and the impact of technology on legal education.Â
