Biography
Anne Bowen Poulin joined the ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Law faculty in 1981. She has written and taught in the areas of criminal procedure, evidence and juvenile justice. She co-authored Pennsylvania Evidence (4th ed. 2013) (with Prof. Leonard Packel). Poulin has also authored numerous articles in her areas of interest, which have been published in journals such as theÌýCalifornia Law Review, theÌýNew York University Law Review, theÌýWashington University Law Quarterly, theÌýWisconsin Law Review, theÌýRutgers Law Review, theÌý¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Law Review, theÌýCincinnati Law Review, and theÌýAmerican Criminal Law Review.
Poulin received her JD from the University of Maine School of Law, where she was an articles editor for the Maine Law Review. She received her LLM from the University of Michigan Law School. Poulin taught legal writing and research at Wayne State University Law School and served as an assistant United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, where she was the deputy chief of criminal receiving and appellate division. Before joining ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Law, Poulin was an assistant professor at Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent College of Law.
At ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ Law, Poulin was active on numerous committees, serving as chair of the building committee and the task force on curriculum assessment, among others. She also served as co-reporter for the committee on model criminal jury instructions for the Third Circuit. She chaired the ABA Death Penalty Moratorium Project for Pennsylvania.Ìý In addition, she served as faculty liaison to the J. Willard O’Brien ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ American Inn of Court and as the dean’s designee for honor board matters. Poulin is a member of the bars of Maine, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
