SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are one of the types of financial aid that can be available to you to help finance your education. It is usually the most sought after type of aid because it typically refers to money for college that you are not expected to repay.
At the Charles Widger School of Law, the following types of scholarships may be available to students:
- Public Interest Scholarship Programs – ΈΜιΩΦ±²¥ Law encourages students to pursue careers in public interest law and offers two scholarship opportunities to support this career path: Public Interest Program Scholars (full-tuition scholarship) and Access to Justice Fellows (partial scholarship. Each year, a select group of applicants are offered scholarships for one of these programs, based on past academic achievement; leadership; demonstrated interest in community service or promoting social justice; and aspiration to pursue a career as a public interest practitioner.
- Institutional Scholarships – These are scholarships that are offered by ΈΜιΩΦ±²¥ University Charles Widger School of Law and awarded to students who meet certain criteria that includes academic achievement and financial need. Available scholarships will be awarded to qualified recipients during the summer. To be considered for need-based scholarship funding, you must submit the and a copy of your parents most recent Federal Tax Return or IRS Tax Transcript. Priority when selecting scholarship recipients, will be given to students who are not receiving merit-based scholarships and demonstrate a true financial need.
- Outside Scholarships – Some private companies and social organizations may offer scholarships. ΈΜιΩΦ±²¥ Law is not associated with these groups, but we have composed a list of opportunities that we have been informed about in order to help you in your search.
