During his semester-long residency, Groverman will hold regular office hours to mentor ֱ Law students and other students across campus, advise and coach for student competitions and offer guest lectures in courses aligned with his expertise.

“We are thrilled to welcome Peter back to ֱ Law as our spring Entrepreneur in Residence,” said MarySheila McDonald, Center director and John F. Scarpa Professor of Entrepreneurship. “As the founder of multiple businesses, Peter brings an incredible amount of knowledge, experience and entrepreneurial spirit to the role and he also knows firsthand the rigors of being a ֱ Law student. He epitomizes our emphasis on the intersection of law and business and as our first alumni EIR, he will be able to uniquely connect with students and inspire them to use their law degrees in innovative ways.”

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Grovara is the first B2B marketplace for natural and organic brands. Its technology platform connects U.S. healthy consumer brands with international retailers, helping companies streamline the entire process and preparing them for the global marketplace in just 60 days. Groverman’s other current businesses include Product Search Live, an innovative shopping experience launching this year; BFY Media, a media network focusing on global wellness health and food; Stretch Gallery, a virtual and physical art gallery in Miami; and the R.E.L.I.E.F. Foundation, a nonprofit helping those affected by natural disasters.

“I love taking an idea and turning it into a business, and I’m going to show students how to do that,” said Groverman. “Working with the students is a creative landscape that is ripe for innovation. It’s an adventure and I’m incredibly optimistic about the ROI for everyone involved.”

Groverman credits his law degree and ֱ Law faculty for allowing him to pursue and jumpstart his entrepreneurial passion while still a student.

“The law degree opens every door, not just more doors, but every door,” said Groverman “Every avenue is a green light for opportunity because of my law degree. When I was a student, ֱ Law faculty enabled me to take time away from my traditional studies to start the R.E.L.I.E.F. Foundation and help earthquake victims in Haiti. Because they afforded me that time, it started my career. Now I’m back on campus as an EIR. It’s really come full circle and I’m happy to help current students realize their own entrepreneurial potential. There’s no shortage of opportunity.”

The EIR position is key to the Scarpa Center’s vision and mission to focus on the intersection of business and law through cross-disciplinary programming, groundbreaking coursework and real-world learning opportunities. The Center plans to have an EIR in residence each semester during the academic year.

Peter Groverman will be on campus throughout the spring semester. His office is located in the Center for Entrepreneurship and Law in John F. Scarpa Hall.
